In the lake-side west wing there used to be the library, the billiard room, which opened to the balcony (nowadays a lecture room), and, at the end of the wing, the winter garden (nowadays a festival hall). The rooms of the west wing are connected with the so called gallery corridor, which narrows and descends towards the end of the wing. This gives a false perspective: the corridor looks longer than it really is.

As a continuation to the west wing there is the gardener“s house, which once included also the working room of the supervisor of the manor. The house is connected to the west wing by vaults. In the basement of the west wing there used to be maintenance and storerooms, as well as a heat distribution room and a fuel store. Three greenhouses were also located on the west side of the wing.

When approaching the main building from the north (main entrance) along the linden alley, the impression of the long distance between the wings and the magnificence of the castle is increased by the false perspective, as the distance between the east and west wing increases all the way towards the wrought-iron fence and gate. The distance between the wings increases on the 70-metre-long way from 32 metres to 40 metres. The impression is emphasized by the smooth lawn in the front yard (no plantings) and the many-hundred-year-old linden, which was saved in the construction plans.
