Vanajanlinna transforms into a Castle of Horrors once again for Halloween.

The Castle of Horrors: Thursday 29.10. - Saturday 31.10.2026
The story takes us back to the late 19th century, when an orphanage was the worst possible fate for children who had lost their parents. The haunted orphanage is ruled with an iron grip by its headmistress, Blutheim. Children are constantly disappearing, but no one seems to care what happens to them.
This year, you are the one we need to help. Headmistress Blutheim has abducted 12-year-old Aino Hämäläinen, even though Aino could have a safe home with her godmother. You must save Aino from Blutheim's clutches!
The story has two possible endings – everything depends on you and your team. Some will succeed in rescuing Aino, but not everyone will make it through this challenging mission.
The horror tour lasts approximately 30–40 minutes. Each group is accompanied by a guide. Groups can accommodate a maximum of 16 people. After the tour, enjoy Blutheim’s buffet dinner. Please proceed to dinner immediately after your tour.
If you would like to dress up for the occasion, you are more than welcome to do so. Every evening, the best costume will be awarded a prize during the after-party starting at 10 pm.
Please note when choosing your outfit that you will be given a Castle of Horrors cloak to wear at the beginning of the tour. It helps us keep the groups together – and safe from the possessed orphan children.
The event is strictly for guests aged 18 and over.
The Castle of Horrors is unfortunately not suitable for guests with mobility difficulties, weak nerves, or heart conditions. Guests must be at least 18 years old to attend. We cannot be held responsible for unpleasant feelings caused by the event, such as fear, horror, or disgust.
Vanajanlinna has many stairs and narrow corridors, so we recommend wearing comfortable footwear.
